We offer a luxurious Japanese Head Spa treatment that not only relaxes you through massage but also cleanses the scalp of dirt and build up that cannot be washed out with the daily shampoo process, making the scalp and hair healthier at the same time.

FAQ's
Can I bring someone with me?
I am only able to accommodate one person at a time. This is a private sanctuary just for you.
how often should i have a head spa?
Our skin, including the scalp, has a 28 day cycle (like the moon!) and therefore it would be best to book a treatment once a month to maintain a healthy scalp.
Should i wash my hair before my appointment?
It's best to not wash your hair for at least a couple of days before your appointment so you can see your hair in it's most 'natural' state.
Can I book if I am pregnant?
The treatment requires laying on your back for a long period of time, which is not recommended in pregnancy due to complications that can arise. It's better to keep mum and baby safe. I look forward to you booking in a well deserved treatment once baby arrives.
Can I have the treatment if I have extensions or braids?
I need to be able to access the full scalp for the treatments therefore I cannot do the treatment for people with extensions or braids. You can book in between extension fittings instead.
Is there an age requirement?
If you are under 18 you must be accompanied by an adult and have parental consent to attend your appointment.
can men have the treatment?
Men deserve a sanctuary too! Men and women are both welcome.
do i have to be in social media content?
No pictures or videos will be taken without your consent. You are more than welcome to take your own pictures or videos at Moonstone. You can tag us on instagram at Moonstoneheadspa.
can I wear makeup at the appointment?
It is best to have no make up on for the treatment as the steam hood will open up pores on your face as well as your scalp.
What hair type do you work with?
All hair types are welcome at Moonstone!
Is the Head Spa good for removing mineral build-up caused by hard water?
Treating your hair and scalp once a month can improve hair loss and damage caused by hard water by removing mineral build-up in the pores and by stimulating blood circulation with cleansing shampoos and head massages.
Will the treatment affect my hair colour?
All products used at Moonstone are safe to use on treated hair. Please note that if you have recently had any chemical services on your hair such as colour, keratin blow dry etc. it is best to wait at least a week before having a head spa treatment. I also recommend waiting at least a week after a head spa for any chemical treatment as you wouldn't want to apply chemicals to a freshly clean scalp.
